Great store, still independent hasnt been bought out. Only place that actually follows through with taking orders and having product asked for!įast in and fast out, and a very good selection of meats and produce. Also carries unusual cuts like frogs legs, turkey necks, and chicken feet. Nearly half price of other places nearby. Im a local who was "vacationing" the day I went to The Pig.love this location! Clean & friendly staff No biggie, there was a rite aid two stores down. Deli makes awesome wraps made to order!įriendly, clean, did not have an eyebrow pencil though. Store is a bit small so somewhat limited selection, but their beer selection is great, so thats a WIN! Very convenient location for Surfside Beach. A bit pricey as compared to larger stores but for quickie trips suits me well. Neighborhood setting, small enough to be comfortable but well stocked. And theres always a manager available if you need something or you need extra help. I love the service and the smiles that I get at this Piggly Wiggly.

I shop there primarily for sale items but there are many regulars.
PIGGLY WIGGLY MYRTLE BEACH FULL
Not a large grocery this Pig does have a full selection of goods. Everything else is at least average or above but the meat prices for say a ribeyes at $4.99 lb.Ī fixture in the South, the Pig is an institution. Just thought that was odd for a grocery store.īEST BEST Meat Prices in all of Myrtle Beach. It was around closing time, so I assumed she was just tired. The checker bagged the items and left them on the counter.didnt hand them to me or put them in the cart. Definitely not the fault of the store, but something to be aware of. We went later in the evening and the place was overrun with astoundingly rude people (customers, not employees). Selection wasnt amazing, but it was sufficient for a small grocery store. There was no- Im sorry or we will correct this. 8, 2016 and noticed food items out of date, some of the chips were out of date and the ice cream I picked up was dated October 16, 2016. Not sure I will go back.īrowsed the store on Dec. I own a place at the beach and frequently visit this store. Disappointed in my visit to this store this time.

Both of these items were within there sell by dates. Also purchased some prepackaged fruit which was rotten tasting. The fruit was dark in places and the cheese had mold on it. One of the items I purchased was some pre-packaged fruit with cheese. Hard to beat that.On 1/21/17 I visited this store. I've also struck up conversations with really cool, down-to-earth beer peeps here, and I've never left disappointed. Bottom line: if the brewery you're looking for distributes in SC, the Pig will most likely stock 'em (or they'll get 'em). Stone/Beachwood/Heretic Unapologetic IPA (growler? oh yeah!)Īwesome stuff. Here's a sample of what I picked up the last time I was down in South Carolina:Ģ013 Southern Tier Choklat (also growler!)Įvil Twin Imperial Doughnut Break (also growler!) Prices have been consistently fair-good, in fact, especially compared to shops in my home state. Byrd frequently gets new stuff and rotates his bottle and tap selections. Six-tap growler station is typically very good, occasionally immense in terms of sheer awesomeness (KBS, Mexican Cake, Hopslam, Enjoy By, aged Evil Twin brews, draught only Allagash/Oskar Blues stuff, etc.). Hundreds of choices well organized on shelves and in coolers. This is exactly the type of place I like to buy beer at -great selection, great people, and a local, high quality grocer feel that totally destroys your typical alcohol warehouse or bottle shop environment.īyrd is an awesome guy-completely helpful, connected with the beer scene in Myrtle Beach, and has pulled stuff from the back he just got in for us a few times. But, if you must have craft beer, this is the widest selection you will find. I grabbed a sixer of southern tier 2x Smash only to find it had been bottled over 5 months ago. But be warned- some of this stuff had been sitting on the shelf for a WHILE, so choose carefully. Let's be honest- it's Myrtle Beach- so the selection of craft beer is EXTREMELY limited, but if you're willing to drive an hour just to find a decent beer to take to the beach, THIS IS YOUR SPOT! It's got a decent, wide selection of craft brews from all over, from the far left coast, to local brews, to Maine- (I was shocked to score two bottles of Maine Beer Co "Peeper Ale" & a bottle of their Porter), as well as a wide variety of Stillwater & Evil Twin brews, Avery barrel aged stouts, and even some Anchor Brewing stuff from California (where I'm from) that I'd never seen before. I drove all the way from Cherry Grove to shop here, and was not disappointed. But, that said, it is, without a doubt, THE best selection of craft beer in Myrtle Beach.
